Finance and Business department deals with the following activities:
Creation and improve sources of Council revenue collection.
Management of Council income and expenditure.
Preparations of finance reports and submit to relative authorities.
Improve and increase work capacity in accomplish department tasks.
Improve laws, principles and procedures used to manage finance department in income expenditure and business and industry sector.
Involve society and create good environment for internal and external investors and privatizing income sources.
To prepare statistics of all businesses and investors and put it in Council Revenue Data base so as we can manage well revenue.
Challenges facing finance and business department.
Small capital to businessman/women results to bad performance of their businesses and failed to meet their business targets. Although government stops to charge different disturbance levy and taxes, others get chance to increase their capitals but still they are not paying Council levy.
Means of communication through road is not good due to lack of transport facilities, result to other areas not easily reachable. For this case the exercise of revenue collection became difficult and sometimes impossible.
Strategies to overcome these challenges.
Educating and advising all businessman/woman good way of improve and run their businesses.
To have a register of all businesses having correct statistics of businesses in order to identify needs for their businesses development.
Managing and deliver legal business registration.
Establish and manage all internal sources of revenue according to law and Council sub-laws.
Improve revenue collection by privatizing sources of revenue at the same time increasing income of revenue collection agents.
Mobilize farmers and businessman/women to establish deposit and borrowing groups so as to increase their incomes.
